Foods in the refrigerator can lose their flavor and take on the taste and odor of other stored items. The Whirlpool W10311524 AIR1 filter will reduce strong odors from onions, garlic, fish and spoiled foods to help keep your fridge fresh and clean. The air filter lets air actively pass through the filter, helping neutralize odor and bacteria and reduces odors 15 times better than baking soda.
For the best results, it is recommended that you replace the filter every 6 months. Includes a filter indicator to alert you when it is time to change the air filter.
Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the new air filter from its packaging.
2. Locate and lift open the vented door along the rear interior wall at the top of the refrigerator compartment.
3. Remove the old air filter by squeezing in on the side tabs.
4. The new air filter should snap easily into place with the depressable tabs facing you and then close the vent door.
Resetting your filter change indicator light:
If your refrigerator model has a built-in air filter status light you will not need the disposable status indicator provided with the air filter. If not, be sure to remove the old filter status indicator and install the new status indicator in a visible place within the refrigerator (if your fridge has notched inside the vent door you can use those for the indicator light).
To activate the status indicator:
1. Place the indicator face down on a firm, flat surface.
2. Apply pressure to the bubble on the back of the indicator, until the bubble pops to activate the indicator light.
3. Check that the indicator is visible and you can see when it is time to replace the filter
